Guild Wars 2
Any BoR's dabble in GW2?
I played GW1 a lot and loved it, and then played GW2 at launch and hated the changes that they made to the game, but I have always thought it a beautiful game. I have been thinking of starting it up again, especially since the core game has gone F2P. I know that Tallanka has played it a lot...and he has tried to help me with it in the past. I know that the devs REALLY stress the grouping/playing with other aspect...and I am trying to see if there are other Brothers who play it.

Nobody in GW2 any longer to my knowledge.

Never played any Fallout games, and not very interested in FPS games anyway...hopefully I will be able to level the NB and DK while everyone is off playing Fallout!!

I bought the game when HOT was announced. I played a few times and didn't like it. The controls felt dated and the story felt forced. The questing was trying to be interesting and different but became repeative anyway making it almost worse than a normal MMO grind fest. Also, there wasn't a lot of VO work. Although the VO the game has is high quality and well done. The graphics were indeed gorgeos however the environments were all fillers and felt bland. There was a lot of open space. The classes are really awesome. The character creator was decent. I loved their transmog system. The PVP seems super legit and I would have really loved to sink my teeth into it. To be honest the entire game felt like it was caught in the middle of what ESO turned out to be and what wow already is. GW2 wasn't different enough to make me feel like I shouldn't just be playing either of those games instead. Somehow though, I'm still intrigued and think the HOT expak looks very promising. If you're starting up let me know. Maybe I'll give it one last whirl. I might just need a brother in that game to play with. I don't remember what server I am on but my family plays on it do id like to stick with whatever it was. I hope this long drawn out response helps.
Well, I started an Elementalist this morning. Her name is Sama Kure and my acct name is michaelramm.8317.
UPDATE: The Elementalist is at 12 and I have a Guardian at 20.

I think for me (Tallanka) one of the main reasons that I enjoyed GW2 is that I played GW1 plus all of the expansions, so the story, though several years in the future, was a continuation of it. I guess having some knowledge of the lore helped pull me into the game. I would agree that the story is weak when you compare it to ESO (ESO in my opinion has the best storytelling via quests of any MMO out there). One thing that I would say GW2 doesn't do very well is introduce a new player to the mechanics of the game, and what they are supposed to do when they get there.
One main thing that I feel that GW2 really did well was the grouping system. On a personal note, when I play MMOs, I tend to level up one toon, and focus solely on them (this has been true with any MMO that I have played, minus GW1, since the level cap was only 20). One of the biggest things I have struggled with thus far (and especially since joining the guild) is that my main character is an AD Bosmer NB. On ESO this basically means that I can't group up with other fellow BoR players (though I thought someone had said that may be changing for dungeons?). In GW2 I can take my level 80 ranger, and I can go to any zone and play with the group, since it scales my level down to the level of the zone. This means that if I chose to do so, I could quest with michaelramm on my ranger, and not feel like I am walking him through the game.
If anyone decides to play it, I would be up for joining a group of fellow BoR.
I was very excited for GW2 when it came out--but it got stale very quickly! Have not played for a long time:)
I used to play pretty frequently last year but since I started playing ESO I havent really gotten back into it! Ill add you the next time I'm on! I got a level 80 Ele, 80 Necro and 80 Mesmer so I would be happy to help ya anytime, man!My main is named Wydor Gearstone, so if I havent added you soon, add me!
