cant get game to launch
OK so far this morning. TS is not working cant get into the guild TS and ESO will not launch for me either. The launcher pops up but whewn I hit PLAY nothing happens and the launcher gets locked on my screen. I CANNOT get it off without rebooting. Other games and programs are working fine. Anyone else having an issue?
TS wentd down last night--looks to still be down. Try TS 2. Karoneth is away so if his TS server is down--it will probably stay that way till he can fix it.
As far as the game--it seems to be working with no problem:)
Just came on and launched the launcher ( I usually bypass the launcher by starting the eso.exe). The launcher came up on PTS and is downloading a PTS update. If this is the case, You can PAUSE the update while you play and that might solve the problem. The PTS update is probably using all your bandwidth. Let me know.
The BoR's primary TS server is back up. Remember, if it goes down, always use the secondary, TS2.borguild.com
Apologies, I am very angry with my PC, motherboard mfr and windows. I hadn't had any type of crash or bluescreen in months then as soon as I leave, it crashes and I have no way to fix it.
It was again, a HARD lockup. Had to use hardware reset switch and apparently this MB doesn't have a watchdog like my old Intel one, where it could not remain locked up more than 15 seconds. Apparently this one feels fine remaining in that state for over 24 hours. I'll have to look into getting some type of watchdog card.
Error logs show Windows update failures and a failure to install windows 10. Well, I never gave approval to actually install that so that's bizarre. I got all of my Windows updates in tonight and told Windows Update to not even download updates until I give the OK. Previously it wasn't allowed to install them, but must have tried anyway.
I'll try upgrading to Windows 10 sometime in the future.

One day I shall come back, yes, I shall come back. Until then there must be no tears, no fears, no anxieties, just go forward with all your beliefs and prove to me that I am not mistaken in mine.
Some do, yes. I do have the Asus AI Suite 3 installed but it doesn't mention a watchdog. How they work by design is a hardware timer that needs to be reset by the operating system. If it is not reset by the deadline, it pulls down the power good signal from the power supply (until power drops out, upon which it releases the power good) and forces a restart of the PC.
It's quite possible my cat hit something on the KB or mouse as I forgot to lock the workstation before I left. Windows 10 has a habit of popping up those windows asking to schedule the update. My cat had free roam of the computer room during my absence which he normally is locked out of at night.
Don't know if it makes a difference or not Karoneth, but from what I understand the Windows 10 update was moved from the non-priority list to the priority update list by Microsoft. So If you have your computer set to only update system required updates that might be what caused the issue, or at least why your computer tried to update to windows 10 on its own.
Seems to be the case.
I tested this and even with Windows 10 CLEARLY unselected, when I tried to do the critical updates the first thing it did was begin Windows 10 installation. I had to cancel it twice manually before it got the hint and I was then able to install the normal updates. Unsure why, just stating my observations! I DID reserve it for this PC in the past however. I'm just not ready yet.
