It was the best upgrade experience I ever had.  Have to do it on this desktop soon.

Well, I stayed home with a migraine today so i decided to bite the bullet and do the upgrade.

I have to say that I am amazed that it went FLAWLESSLY! [which absolutely pains my IT heart to say!!] I am VERY impressed with the Windows Upgrade process. The tool would not work pre-upgrade, but it did work post-upgrade so that I was able to make install media for when I get a new SSD drive (what was I thinking getting a 128GB SSD!!).

Overall, it is nice, i have not delved into a lot of it...been testing games on it.

Yes I have use it too and had no issues except one thing.  I got an error when using the tool that says "Something Happened".  If you get this error you can check out this video which I made to help get past that issue.

I've used it and installed from it without an issue Michael... and I've also upgraded from Windows Update without an issue.  Now, does that mean everyone is going to have a smooth go of it?  Of course not.. we all know that everyone's PC is different and therefore, anything can happen.  As always, before any major upgrade.. make sure everything of importance is backed up.  But, I don't think I need to remind you since you're an IT guy like me. a friend of mine told me about a tool to allow you to make install media for Windows 10. It is called the Microsoft Media Creation Tool. I have NOT used it, but I will be using it this coming weekend when I perform my upgrade to Windows 10.

Hope that this helps some out there.

I have the upgrade ready to launch, but I just cannot bear to do it. after almost 20 years in IT and telling folks to NEVER upgrade, I am at a crossroads! One of my employees has done the upgrade and said it was smooth...after two restarts, and he loves win10.

I guess I will try to get it upgraded this weekend...at least ALL of my games are on my second HDD hard drive.

Retried Windows 10 Upgrade again today and everything went great this time. All my programs seem to be working correctly. I had to repair ESO, but it worked fine after!--so yay:)

Hey Baranon, there is a Lastpass windows app in the Microsoft store.  It works very similarly to the Lastpass app on smartphones.  It is what I use for my windows machine.  It is not quite as handy as having it right in the browser but it works for now until it can be used as a plugin in the Edge browser.

I got the notification this morning that my PC was ready to upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 10. Everything went great until I signed into my desktop--then all I got was a flashing screen. Was on the phone with Microsoft Tech support for an hr and they escalated me to a more experienced person--but after being on hold for almost 2 hrs I just reverted to my old Windows 8. After a quick search of the internet I found over 180 people on one forum with the same problem and numerous other complaints of the same issue. None of the mentioned solutions fixed my problem.

Guess I will wait a bit before I take the plunge again.

Update....just before I hung up the phone it rang and the Tech Support guy answered. Basically, he told me it would be a good idea to wait a week or two before I update as they have many issues/bugs to figure out--the flashing desktop being one of them. So--looks like I will be waiting for sure:)

You can go to Microsoft.com and speed it up....

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Go to bottom of page and select Download Tool Now, 64-bit, then select Upgrade this PC

Yeah.. pissed me off.  It works with Chrome, so that's my saving grace.  But it just irritates me to no end that a company doesn't stay up on the OS changes or Browser changes in this case with the new IE
